Glynneath Golf Club is situated in South Wales and lies within the Brecon Beacons National Park - an area of outstanding natural beauty. Non-members are very welcome!! The excellent M4 and A465 road links provide easy access for visitors from far and near. We are only 20 minutes from Swansea and 30 from Cardiff. Our central location means we are very easily accessible to the many members and visitors we have from all over South, Mid and West Wales. We are frequently visited by golfers from all over the UK, many of whom come to Wales for a short break and stop with on the way to or from their destination.

Our membership packages are unparalleled for value, as is our popularity as a venue for society outings and company golf days. Members and visitors are always assured of excellent hospitality and a superb golfing experience.

EXCLUSIVE OFFERS & DEALS on green fees are available to any registered to receive our newsletter. Simply sign up, which is very quick and easy.

We have one of the most interesting and varied golf courses in Wales. Few courses offer the golfer such variation and it's not too difficult in terms of length either - we call it an 'enjoyable course'. There is a comprehensive section on this website dedicated to the golf course - just click on the Golf Course link in the Main Menu. From there, you will have access to a separate menu from where you can see our scorecard and also read a description of every hole on the course.

Our site should, hopefully, provide you with all the information you require if you are interested in finding out more about this great club.

We hope you enjoy your visit!

The New BRS Golf Tee Time Booking System

The new online booking system is now ready for use. You can still book by phone or by popping into the shop, but the online system may prove quicker and easier and also allows you to book outside of shop opening hours and to check availability in advance. You will see the links to this service in the right hand column of the website. Please feel free to make any practice bookings which can later be cancelled and as we are all getting used to the new system, please let us know if you come across any issues with the system.

As a member, you will first need to register using your unique four-digit username (list available in the changing rooms or from the shop). You will only need to do this once. To book a tee time, logging in will allow you to select one of the upcoming Member Competitions, or a casual golf booking. Select the day and time you would like to play, and select the members you are playing with (if any) to confirm your tee time.

As a visitor, you have no login information but will be asked to fill in some personal details once you have selected a date, time and number of players. These details include your contact information and also payment information. Please be aware that you will NOT be charged at the time of bookings and your details will only be kept for insurance purposes if you do not turn up for your round without giving us prior notice. You can pay for your round on arrival in the shop by either cash or card.

GETTING INVOLVED IN 2014

If your new year’s resolution was to exercise more, master a new skill or expand your social horizons, you can’t go far wrong with playing golf. It’s a sport for men and women of all ages and physical abilities, and it really is never too late to start.

Our exceptional course maintenance here at GGC means the course is open and playable for more days of the year than any other course in the area, so you can be sure to get a full 12 months of play for your membership. The full 18 hole, par 71 course is made up of gentle hills and surrounded by breath-taking scenery, and with a pint waiting for you in the clubhouse after your round, what’s not to love?

Membership

Members looking to join or renew for 2014 will be pleased to know that membership rates have not been raised for the coming year. Full prices for our different types of membership can be found on the Membership page of this website. Fees can be paid in full by cash or cheque, or by a flexible direct debit scheme (incurs 5.9% service charge). We ask for a deposit of at least £50 when using the direct debit scheme, but deposits are flexible to suit you. The more you pay upfront, the less your monthly payments and service charge will be.

We urge members to pay their membership fees as soon as possible. The sooner the club receives these essential funds, the sooner this money can be put back into the course, clubhouse and shop, to make your golfing experience better for everyone.

Don’t forget, your membership with Glynneath Golf Club also entitles you to play for free at Wernddu and Caerphilly, as well as Glynhir for just £5.

Flexiplay

If financial and time commitments mean you couldn’t make of most of full membership, our Flexiplay scheme could be just what you’re looking for. For £200 you’ll receive a book of 20 vouchers which can be used at any time within 12 months of purchase. One full voucher entitles the bearer to one full 18-hole round of golf during any weekday or off-peak weekend, and one half voucher can be exchanged for a 9-hole round during these times. During peak-time weekends, one and a half vouchers can be exchanged for one full round.

Loyalty Cards

For anyone who doesn’t play enough golf to make use of full membership or the Flexiplay scheme, or anyone who is a member at another club but still enjoys trips out to play the Glynneath course, make sure to pick up a loyalty card. Have your card signed by a member of staff each time you play, and for every four rounds you play with us, you’ll get a fifth round free.

GOLF IN WALES IS ON THE MAP
Wales Flag

The 2010 Ryder Cup, held in Wales, was a huge success and, already, we are witnessing a positive effect on golf within the country. More people in Wales are interested in golf than before - that's good, and long may it continue. The other noticable impact is the way Internet users are doing their research on Wales, with golf in mind. Our website analytics tells us that an increasing number of site visitors are have not specifically searched for Glynneath Golf Club, but for 'golf in Wales', 'golf clubs in Wales', 'golf breaks in Wales', 'golf courses in wales', etc... Also, Google's keyword frequency tool is showing a dramatic rise in these search queries and pretty much anything to do with GOLF and WALES. This interest stems not just from within Wales and around the UK, but globally. With so many great golf courses on offer, at last it looks like people are thinking about getting out and playing on them.

If you're reading this with a view to making a visit to Wales for a golf break, then just go for it - you won't regret it. The hospitality is alway superb and the golf courses are of the highest quality and also offer great value for your money. Glynneath Golf Club and it's members will certainly welcome you with open arms and, if you are seeking good quality accommodation and shuttle transfers during the visit, as well as advice on other local courses to visit, feel free to contact us and we will help you to plan ahead.
